| A view
of perfection is one that has no origin in human thought. Those who want to feel
perfection by seeing others as imperfect suffer humanly from a lack of the true
realization of perfection. The thoughts one entertains upon the spiritual realization are
devoid of judgment of any kind. Seeing things "away" from the human experience
gives a clearer image and understanding of the true nature of "being". As for those with a seeming warped sense of perfection, as you mention below, Their "difference" is the "comparison" by which perfection is perceived on the human level. They can't take anything away from someone else's perfection to make their own. You must understand that with all the different personal opinions, there is the total of all the separate concepts that make up the "human thought and feeling" judgmental acquiring "self image". All is One and even every individual quality makes up that one. Remember that the reasoning mind cannot "know" of any individual quality that constitutes "good" or "bad" without the conscious awareness of it's opposite. This is the separateness that causes all of life's problems....drifting from one side to the other...always in the act of comparison. When you see that God is sometimes found in hell by those who undergo a dramatic spiritual transformation, you will understand that mere human concepts of good and evil are the manifestation of man's thoughts striving to know of something that cannot be "thought". In this realm of "no thought" is the origin and place of the existence of all being perfect and separate from human opinion. The "need" to feel "right" about anything is predicated by a feeling of wanting to be free from the roller coaster ride of human opinions and concepts. "Right" just can't be found by mere thought. It is the origin of the "good we perceive of" that we seek and not just the effects. If you were the only person on earth who had the pure realization of Truth, it would not matter what the rest of the world thought of you. Your consciousness would make everything so crystal clear in understanding that these earthly human thought qualities would be known like children having not yet experienced the yearning to learn about their purpose. After all, the only real thing you have to live with on this earth is yourself and in being alone with God, there is never any loneliness. You become the friend of all without needing friends. You become the servant of all in having all of your needs fulfilled without needing anything apart from the conscious presence of God. You realize that supply is not something we get but rather something we give. In this state of spiritual maturity is the recognition of All as being Perfect. Those who read for the true meaning of what I say must do more that read my words. They must read and read again for the meditative Truth behind the words. All is well, Bob
Having gone through some of the same feelings as you describe below at the end of this letter, I will try to clarify some things for you that may start the process of a deeper understanding. You may need to read what I say many times. I know you are extremely intelligent and have all within you that you need to overcome some of your present difficulties. Nothing that I ever say can be a process of "putting in". The Truth within your own being is the thing that imparts the understanding. Recognition of the Truth or God within occurs as enlightenment as one reads and understands beyond the mere words I say. When you say, "the belief that theirs is the only true way to come to a real relationship with the truth of existence.", it seems that you are seeing more than one belief. An individual interpretation of the ONE belief is what constitutes one's experience and therefore sometimes becomes a mental picture of that experience that some may interpret as "their" belief. The human race is made up of individual material bodies, all different. We identify ourselves as a member of that human race and rarely exclude any because of their physical differences. The Truth of a spiritual experience is that in seeing and knowing, there is only ONE of ALL there is. Spiritual experience is what you are looking for and only in that experience will your Understanding grow to the point of the questions coming to answer all which you presently lack complete understanding. There is nothing to do that is measured by right or wrong but in the "letting go" of the questions prevailing in your thoughts. It is the "calling" that lets a spiritual journey unfold and never human reasoning. When you say, "but now I feel stuck, blocked by the inability to "settle" for any subjective way of approaching a true and felt relationship with my core divinity & what it's a part of.", you are recognizing, as I did once, that Truth doesn't come in one package. If it did, "your" experience of divinity would only be conceived in your human consciousness completely differently than anyone else's, therefore making it a "different" truth as interpreted. The "Truth" is not in the human understanding or interpretation but in gradually growing in spiritual understanding until the "Source" of that Truth becomes the experience. Human experience always defines something in the reasoning mind as a "Truth". Going beyond the mere human feelings of that experience gives us the total and true spiritual understanding of the "thing" that has defined that experience. "The Kingdom of God is within you" and with it comes the spiritual discernment of knowing the Source of all you presently hunger for. God is not in holy temples or holy mountains but in the "still small voice". The word God has as many interpretations as the number of people on this earth...and more. But at the same time, God is ALL that constitutes the ONE. Everyone's experience of a solidified positive change associated with the "name" of God constitutes their experience with divinity on the human level. But it is much more that you are seeking. You are seeking divinity on the spiritual level. God is "I Am". Certainly not the human " I am" but the "I Am" of your true identity. Sometimes in my spiritual counseling, there comes a release "from" thought in the person I am talking to. It is what takes the place of thought that hints of enlightenment. Just as one would know his own house so well as to know it in the dark in the same way as in the light, the invisible becomes visible in "consciousness". But this can never occur as long as you hold on to a belief that you need optical light to see. When you say "I've tried "just being" too - doesn't work when you can't turn your mind off ever from what's going on here", there exists the reality of an "impossibility" concerning the human thought process. Most just can't understand that something greater than human thought exists in their earthly life. If someone build their own camera and looked through the lens at the world, they would be experiencing earthly reality "through" their creation. He and the camera would become one. If they put their consciousness into the camera, it would seem to have an identity of itself. He would "feel" his presence inside the lens of the camera. Going one step further, his experience would be from the presence of the camera and in so being, all that could be experienced would be through the camera only. He and the camera would be ONE. The camera could not do its job without his consciousness. The camera would actually take on the consciousness of its creator confined to its physical purpose only. A "Spiritual Enlightenment" would occur when the camera senses the operation of its purpose coming from something greater than itself. That "sense" can only occur if given to the camera by its creator. The camera would think, I and my creator are ONE. "I and the Father are ONE" puts the perspective on this analogy. Your "Calling" is from this ONE. There is never anything you have to or can do humanly in thought to make this realization happen. Your experience is happening "without" the help of your thoughts. Just as you can't make it rain with your thoughts, you can only be aware of the rain when it occurs. All is well, Bob Gupton
___________________________________________________________ Chapter 2 - Experiencing Life Beyond Thought and Reason In looking back over my 59 years of life in this world, I see how life seemed to have flowed in one direction and then another based on my beliefs and concepts. In learning how both good and bad are dependent on each other for their existence, I realized that nothing is neither good nor bad. One would think that this would take all the motivation out of life, but only to those who believe life exists in terms of opposites. Close your eyes for a moment and realize how very much you can see. If you can't actually see very much it is because your mind is clouded with thoughts and feelings. How does one eliminate thoughts and feelings? Start by sensing something that requires no thought like music, pleasant physical sensations, love, God, or anything that would free you from any feelings of lack or discomfort. As you do this, free yourself from any thoughts or judgments of right or wrong, good or bad. You will discover that thought is something that does not exist in this realm of consciousness. It is simply a state of "being". You don't think, "This is peace." because you ARE the peace. There are many forms of meditation that will take you into a contemplative state. Find one that makes it a habit for you . Daydream if you like, this is meditation, too. Don't think you have to be taught meditation, just recognize how you have meditated in the past even unknowingly. Looking at a beautiful sunset, waves at the beach, a child sleeping....these are all meditative states. What you let into your consciousness while in these meditative states constitutes how your consciousness will expand. The real truth of your being does not lie in persons, places, things, or even experiences. It lies beyond....just on the other side of meditation or in other words, "Beyond Prayer And Meditation". But it stays invisible because of the importance of human events. One night last year after a series of what appeared to be bad events, I just let go, and it didn't matter how much of this seeming "bad" would happen to me anymore. I didn't want to die, but it didn't matter if I lived anymore, it didn't matter what I lost or what I gained anymore, and it didn't matter how right or wrong I thought I was or others thought I was. It didn't matter because I realized that this world with all its ups and downs seemed real only because my brain was interpreting things in a way that seemed like a prison, entrapping me in human emotions that were always changing based on factors I could not see or understand. I kept feeling, "There is something more, something greater and more meaningful and wonderful happening that I am blind to". I knew my real sight was not dependent on my eyes but I didn't know what else there was to see with. So, I let go some more. I let go of the importance of my human senses, the instability of thought processes and reached out to find something more real than anything I had ever experienced. Everyone knows it is there but they can't recognize it. It has always eluded man even with his searches for the reasons for existence, purpose of life and even God. Something changed within me that I can say was a replacement of thought and reason with being and experiencing the "Other side" of life and existence which was like being released from an aquarium into the vastness of the oceans. I felt what I used to call spirituality from about the age of 10. I had a longing to know more about God. I always felt a deep love from somewhere and from what I was taught and heard, it must have been God. Little did I know that what I felt then was going to to come directly into my life in a way that no one could have ever imagined. Having the experience of "letting go" brought me into a consciousness that gave me the wisdom to explain how giving up the things of this world opens a doorway to experiencing life beyond thought and reason. And on the other side of this doorway is an expanded consciousness that draws all things unto you.Update: I am devoting the rest of this year to finishing my book off-line. It is just too important to have it available in its entirety as to not lose any of its important meaning. B ook Introduction A dedicated spiritual journey requires non-attachment and non-dependency of things of the human existence. This is why the type of spiritual journey that this book is about will only appeal to people like those in their 50's and older, whose children are grown and whose careers have mellowed out with less importance placed on them, those with no children, the lonely, depressed, those who have had unusual spiritual experiences, those who feel misplaced in this world, those who feel led to something more important than this human existence, and those who feel the "Presence" of something guiding them - whether it be in the form of a spiritual voice, aliens or higher and more intelligent life forms, spiritual apparitions, or a vision of some type of higher being, all as loving presences.Truth never comes in one package. In fact any so called "truth" that did not originate in You is nothing more that a belief that attracts you because of some similarity to what you have been trying to perceive as TRUTH. An organization that needs followers to support them can just about think of anything involving God, Humanity, Righteousness, Love, Compassion, and Conscious to manipulate the right amount of people to support them and their cause. In this type of manipulation involving guilt, the following rules or laws and then approval and acceptance are supposed to make people change into the typecast version of their doctrine. Along with superstition and dependency, these organizations gain power over them by keeping them in kindergarten by not letting them truly express what spirituality really means to them. One never "learns" God, they "experience" God. Originally, religion, like government was organized to control people for their own good by adding harmony and commonality to create a civilized society. I don't believe anyone ever wanted slaves, but rather, people wanted to be controlled. When their dissatisfaction with life continued by others giving them work to do they eventually didn't like either, their Instructors became their enemy. And with this so called slavery, came rebellion. Eventually the problem was seen by those wiser than those who relied on their human emotions and invented a Concept of God that most people could very easily be controlled by. The battle between Good and Evil became the purpose of life. Man has almost arrived at the realization that Good and Evil are emotions and opinions that have never furthered the advancement of Spiritual Growth. This battle of opposites and without ever one defeating the other permanently is the premise on which many statements in this book are written. God is the term used to explain when man can't understand something he can't do himself. God is the presence one feels when his human senses can't prove the existence of something greater than his reasoning brain. God is the extended Mother-Father protector and provider. God is what man feels when his feelings grow into wisdom and realization. God is Salvation from the pain of life. God is Love and all Good. God is the Creator of All. God is .......God is....... God is......... God is............... God is.............and you fill in the meanings. All are right humanly. In man's search of God has always been the search for his own identity. Through our website, Beyond Prayer and Meditation, thousands have expressed beautifully their understanding of God. The following is just one of these. "I understand the true nature of reality as the passage of thought and awareness. I see God not as an individual being or power, but as the accumulation of all that is, was, and ever shall be. quite simply put, the universe is God, I am God in individual expression as is every other "living" and "non living" thing in all of existence. Everything that can possibly happen has already happened, there are no limits. There are NO limits. God is love and the most important thing in the universe-- the force that holds everything together is this love. We are eternal beings with an individual purpose. It is the duty of all human beings to remember our true nature and understand that God is all things seen and unseen, and that worries and fears do not exist, but are merely projections of the ego. Love and faith are the most important elements in one's life, and by our essential nature, we are all exactly the same." This book is an account of my wife Gail and my personal 22 year spiritual journey and experiences. If someone who reads this book has not come as far as we have, they will grow from it, If someone has come further than we have, it will be old news, but interesting reading. Most who have come far in their spiritual journey understand the following two statements; "I and my Father are One." God is ALL", including everything we are aware of that He is and everything we are NOT aware of that He is, or as I once heard someone say "God is everything He is and everything is isn't." |
