THE LETTER OF TRUTH, by Gail Gupton
Jesus was held before a court of law and found guilty, however his words have survived two thousand years, beyond all attempts to destroy them. Truth is a foundation upon which no rock can fall.

Jesus was the wayshower. The Christ within him is the same Christ that is within each of us. That same guiding light shines upon our lives and leads us in the way of righteousness.

Just as the words of Jesus has inspired billions, many over the last 5 decades have been inspired by the words of Joel S. Goldsmith. Joel gave of his enlightenment to those searching for Truth and he called the way he found the Infinite Way, meaning the way of truth is infinite. I don't believe he intended it to be held as property.

As the Internet has grown, people from around the world have sought out this same spiritual food. Just search the term "infinite way" and you'll find books, practitioners, and dozens of people who have this term mentioned in their sites. Our web site receives over 2,000 hits per month which shows people all over the globe have a hunger for Truth. Many respond that they like our site because we give freely, without commercialization.

Today, as I write this newsletter, we received an attempt at intimidation from an attorney representing The Infinite Way® headquarters, threatening us with "copyright infringement". No law has been broken. We do not claim to be The Infinite Way® or to sell books or tapes promoted by The Infinite Way®. The phrase "infinite way" is a broad and uncopyrighted term. We obliged by removing the words from our site's source code and removed the audio message we had on the site, replacing it instead with the actual letter for those wanting to read how the "Letter of the Law" works in today's society. The people at the headquarters must have a false belief that something is being "stolen" from them.

Joel very clearly indicated to his students that the goal of each should be to reach a point where one no longer needed tapes and books and crutches on which to stand. Yet, how many continue to perpetuate and cling to that which should be forsaken? Does one continue school courses throughout a lifetime? If one were to write a book and mention the college of learning, would the college sue the individual for writing the name of the university in his book?

Each has his own spiritual journey. Each has his own proof of God's presence. Each has his own challenges and obstacles.

One cannot copyright Truth. And to copyright the words, "The Infinite Way", one must want to claim ownership of something. We give credit to Joel Goldsmith on our web site with the following statements by Bob, "I started my journey at the age of 11 and it wasn't until I was 39 that I discovered freedom in God through the works of Joel S. Goldsmith. The actual spiritual transformation occurred about four years ago while I listened to a portion of one of his tapes several times a day for over a month. You will find the transcript of that portion of the tape called "A Meditation on God's Presence" in the navigation below. If you would like an actual audio tape of this transcript, let me know and I will see about sending you one. I give all the credit for my spiritual advancement to Joel S. Goldsmith in as much as he released me from his teachings and showed me the path to enlightenment without attachment. This is why I no longer need his books or teachings. A little over a year ago, at the age of 56, I put away Joel's books because I found this Oneness and no longer needed someone else's words to bring me the ultimate realization. I had wanted to do this for some time but was fearful of feeling alone. What a surprise when I discovered that the only loneliness I had ever experienced was in needing an outside source to follow. This kind of freedom can be experienced without such a long wait. The reason I waited and waited was there was no one to tell me to cut the strings of attachment. I just did it to find out what was on the other side. I was already there but didn't know I should let go."

The legal letter is of mortal law. As Jesus stated in the Bible, "Thou canst have any power over me, except it be given thee from above". To be obedient to the law is right but, in the face of Truth, can be seen for what it is. Can one feel threatened when good is omnipotent? How can someone, supposedly teaching spiritual Truth, claim ownership to that which is free? There are no bonds, only liberation in Spirit.

The audio tape on our web site was shared with us by an original student of Joel. We freely shared it with thousands of others and introduced the words of Joel Goldsmith to countless people who may not have otherwise had the opportunity to discover his message. I'm sure many of those have gone on to buy at least one of 500 more tapes available from The Infinite Way®. So, where is the proclaimed competition mentioned in the legal letter? Instead, there should be gratitude.

Fear has a way of motivating one to make unwise decisions. Human emotions of anger and greed cause one to put up defenses which reflect only back onto oneself. There is nothing spiritual about the human defense. Oneness with God is peace.

All is well.
